For all people who shoot a lot of photos, some cameras have a drawback. The number the photos something like DSC_0001 up to DSC_9999 and then they start over again from DSC_0001 or similar. Sometimes they create a new folder, however, for archiving purposes this is not very practical, because for every 10000 photos you shoot, you will have another file with the same filename. In order to have a unique name for each photo it would be nice to add one or two digits in front of the number so that you could have 100.000 or 1.000.000 unique filenames. Of course, if you had to do this manually you can forget about shooting because you will only be busy with renaming your files. The easier way is to take RENAMER 6, which is a free application which can batch process thousands of filenames in a matter of seconds. You can trim filenames, add characters, numbering sequences, etc. This is not only useful for your photos, it may also be for other purposes.
