| On the right hand side you can see a gigapixel photo of the
ALHAMBRA in Granada in Spain. The photo has been composed from
some 350 individual images with a total resolution of
1.238.584.820 pixels. The dimensions of the original file are
89935x13772 pixels. You can zoom in and spot details you cannot
see with the bare eye when you are at the scene.
The shooting of this photo has taken about one hour,
preparation for stitching about two hours, control points and
stitching roughly 3 hours and final stitching on a quad core, 8
gigs, Velociraptor machine another 2 hours 15 minutes.
Ultra high resolution photos in the gigapixel range are
amazing when it comes to the level of detail. I hope to be able
to include multi-gigapixel photos on this site soon, so that you
can have an even more exiting experience.
