Gigapixel Photo of Granada by night, Andalucia, Spain.

On the right you can see a multimegapixel horizontal panorama of Granada by night. The photo has been composed of some 70 individual photos resulting in a total resolution of 243.437.628 pixels. The dimensions of the original images which is slightly more than 1Gb in TIFF format is 44133x5516 pixels. Zoom in to identify tiny details which you cannot see with the bare eye.

The shooting of this photo has taken about 30 minutes, preparation for stitching about an hour, control points and stitching roughly 1 hour and final stitching on a quad core, 8 gigs, Velociraptor machine another 25 minutes.

Ultra high resolution photos in the gigapixel range are amazing when it comes to the level of detail. I will soon add further photos of different locations.

Thank you for visiting.
