Gigapixel Photo of Palma de Mallorca's cathedral LA SEU, taken in January 2008

On the right you can see a gigapixel photo of the cathedral LA SEU of Palma de Mallorca in Spain. The photo has been composed from more than 400 individual images with a total resolution of the final result of 1.113.907.410 pixel. The dimensions are 51534x21615 pixel. Upon zooming in you can discover a great level of detail that actually allows you to take a close look at each single stone of the building.

The shooting of this photo has taken about one hour, preparation for stitching about two hours, control points and stitching roughly an entire day and final editing another 20 hours, which could have been done faster, if I had had a faster computer....
